| And so time passed. Now that ppl stopped checkin my xanga to see if I updated, I'm feelin the need to let everyone know that I'm good and alive. Or rather, that I'm good because I'm alive. Anwyas, life is really good for me right now. Maybe I need to re-introduce myself... My name is Nina Sugawara, i'm 19, and I'm a sophomore at Boston University. Originally from the great city of Worcester, Mass. I used to be in the School of Education majoring in secondary math education, BUT NOW I'm in the College of Arts & Sciences majoring in Linguistics. I knew there was no way I was stickin with math. But I didn't know what it was that I wanted to switch into. Finally I had it down to sociology or linguistics. That was a hard decision but linguistics majors have to take 2 languages; thas what made my decision a lot easier. I get to take continue Spanish and start Korean. craazy. Anways, I'm lovin my classes this year, including a real interesting one called "The Bible." It's about the Koran. haha no jp. almost everyone in there is so religious in their own way, even the atheists. Actually one atheist said he was taking the class because even though he believes there is no god, the Bible is probably the greatest piece of literature ever written. Even they can't deny the significance of the bible. So college is fun. There are still 6 bc's in BU even though we temporarily lost Hyomin and Sonja. The 2 new freshmen are Elli Balcomb and Yeasook Cho. Yea shoutout to them. My new roommate is from Singapore. She's real nice. I hang out with her and her friends sometimes. They're all international students representing all of Asia. Her and her Singaporean friends cuss like every other sentence. Sooo funny cuz they talk real fast in this British/Singaporean accent. Yea so my roommate situation is good in case you were wondering how i was doin without my ex-roomie Sonja. Oh rite, I have a work-study job at a school tutoring 5th n 6th graders. So i still haven't gone far from education. Half the time I'm helping with homework; the other half I'm breakin up fistfights. I love the kids cuz they love me. but theyre so bad to each other. I work with some deaf and cognitively impaired kids too. $9 an hour. So now for my advertisement. If you're a senior in high school and still lookin for colleges to apply to, Boston is definitely the place to be. Great bc community, urban setting, big schools, small schools, public transportation n all that good stuff. We have sunday services directed toward college students twice a month, an awesome college choir, weekly hoon dok hae/DINNER, and of course college-staffed Beantown Bash for high school students, which includes a free DINNER for college students. Anyways, if anyone wants to knwo more about schools in boston I'm more than excited to talk about it, and I could always hook you up with a tour. I think this entry will suffice for the next what 6 months. Now that facebook is open to the public and myspace is not just for whores, I almost feel like this entry was in vain. B-day shoutout to Miss Hiroyo Okubo. It's your special day for another 22 min. Love ya girl!!! | | |

| So i'm just doin Gully's weekly update on American Idol.
It was Elvis week so they each did 2 songs from the King himself. Chris's "Suspicious Minds" wasn't too bad at all, but his lack of passion throughout the nite bothered me. Katherine's remix of "Hound Dog" and "All Shook Up" was so cute. She danced like crazy n she dropped some of the lyrics in the middle but her personality shined through, so what more can we ask for. Then she did one of my favorites - "I Can't Help Falling in Love with You." I was really excited in the beginning cuz it started off real nice. It just turned out "kinda flat" according to Randy. Elliott - whass with the hair...looked like it was supposed to be a blowout but was jus literally blown out. acorrding to the judges it was his best nite. I was definitely a fan of his first one "If I Can Dream." Lil by lil, you see him become a real humble n passionate charaacter. I think thas what alotta people admire, besides his undeniably soothing voice. Taylor Taylor Taylor...i thought that was definitely one of his best nites. "Jailhouse Rock" was a typical dancing one from Taylor, but "In the Ghetto" was enough for me. Such a classy performance.
So that was Tuesday nite. I had no idea what was gonna happen tonite. well actually, i thought chris n katherine were gonna be the top 2. but instead elliott, who was in the bottom 2 last week, and taylor were safe today, and it was between chris and Katherine. honestly i hoped chris would go home. i jus don't like him as much as the other contestants. but i felt so bad when he found out he was goin home. he looked so shocked, like he couldn't believe what he was hearin. o rite, so Gully, Chris is goin home tonite. still can't believe it.
| And i can't wait till i'm a happy middle-aged woman, and i can't wait till i'm completely finished with schooling. can't wait to buy maternity clothes, have 12 cats, hav the job of my dreams doin what i love to do, see some of my closest school friends recognize True Father n True Mother as the True Parents of Humanity, see the Red Sox win their next World Series, and maybe evn travel the World. lol the chronology n importance of all these things is all jumbled upp. juss can't help bein so optimistic about the future.
Most of all, I can't wait till we set foot in Cheon Il Guk - the nation of comic peace and unity. we don't wanna juss be close to reaching Cheon il guk- like Moses got so close to settin foot in the land of milk n honey. close, almost, near, more or less, practically, relatively, roughly, quite....you probly wouldnt find these words in a Cheon Il Guk dictionary.
Bein so close to the end of the school year, iss so easy to juss give up, fall short, settle for mediocrity, n not care cuz it's summer vacation. If there's somethin my dad tried to instill in me, iss to always complete everything till the very end. he stressed that day n nite, whether it was a paper, project, a condition, finishin my plate , fundraising, any kinda task. Can't count how many times i would "get in trouble" for almost givin up. He would always say that the thing he dislikes the most is not carryin something out till is fully accomplished, n not holding the task valuable enough to finish, when you can gain complete victory by not lettin Satan claim nething. so let's not settle for nething less.
Shoutout to Papa, 53 yrs old on May 4.
"The person who ignores the value of each and every moment to love will lose what is truly precious. Whether we win or lose is determined in a single moment. Every historical victory and every heavenly victory was determined in a moment. Therefore, a great person lives his or her life constantly aware of the precious value of each moment, for every particular moment is uniquely special. Such a person can be included in the ranks of the saints, and even become a divine son or daughter in Heaven and on earth." Rev. Dr. Sun Myung Moon
i kno youre not gonna believe me but i was jus playin about the 12 cats.
And can't you juss taste Summer - juss rite aroun the corner?
What a strange post at sucha strange hour. but i been talkin to alotta kids finishin up their freshman year of college, an we're all juss droolin for summer break to get started.
So, to evrybody takin finals - les's fininsh strong huh. Gooood luck.

American Idol on Tuesday nite:
Elliott sang "On Broadway" and some Michael Buble song. thas rite, they each sang 2 songs. his vocals are definitely there, and even though he's no Taylor Hicks when it comes to dancing, he's still enjoyable to watch.
Paris performed. she delivered. she sounded great doin some song that ended with "kiss." she also did mary j. blige's "can't be without you" - kinda pitchy, n boring too. juss sounded like she wanted to sound like mary, even though, in my opinion, paris can sound even better than her.
Chris - i think it was his best nite yet. but the 2nd song sounded like he was really pushin his voice - you could almost feel the pain. is he really singin? i mean from his diaphragm? if he really sang frm where it's supposed to come from he wouldnt sound like all the effort comes from his throat.
Katherine - weak 1st song. she sounded so strange. as if she wanted to make the song her own a lil too much so what happened was she kept sounding delayed and a step behind the music. but she redeemed herself with KT Tunstall's new "black horse and a cherry tree". very good song choice. made the song her own n had fun.
Taylor - haha Taylor..oh Taylor. "Play that funky music white boy." couldn't have been more appropriate. and then the Beatles, "something". kinda boring for me but the judges thought it was good.
Wed nite
o dear. do we really haaave to send one home?
bottom 2 was obviously gonna be elliott and paris. but which one is it? who's goin home? of course, "we'll find out, after the break"
actually, not to digress too much but, that new Burger King commercial for their new Texas Double Whopper, "what real men eat" is mad funny. but you hafta watch the whole thing. not the abridged commercial.
Elliott has such awesome vocals that i would love to hear on the radio. he's nevr had ne pitch problems or nothin like that. he jus doesn't perform as well as paris does. he's not stiff or nething, he's jus more entertaining to the ear than to the eye.
Paris is so cute. watchin her perform is good enough but on top of that herr voice is amazing. but i think she's gonna be famous neways. shes not gonna need american idol.
They both seem like such genuinely good ppl. vry sincere n polite. But whos ogin home. Dun Dun duuuunnn.
Paris leaves the stage tonite. what a shame. i really like her.
